I might be asking too much, but i thought id give it shot since i failed miserably in trying to do it myself. And i don't know anyone friendly enough, or anyone that appears they might be interested in helping. Or anyone that codes postnuke modules, for that matter.
I was wondering if you can can create a module for HLStats. Ive seen other people do it, so i know its possible. No one ever gives the files up though. Its very strange. I did find one after awhile of searching. But the version of HLStats they used to make the module was super old and outdated. Although i looked it over and it didn't appear that added that much to the original code. Just added things like $ModName and include(header.php); and a few other addons. It was also created quite some time ago.. so it doesn't work right on .750. the links all go to /modules.php?game=tfc not the actually index page. I'm trying to learn all of this on my own by looking at changes in the original code and the modified module code in the new hlstats version. Its not easy when you don't have a tutor. I failed ..
Soo .. i have the module in my postnuke downloads section. http://mtndewbuzz.net/downloads/postnuke
Its called eHLStats-1.02.zip ... But the HLStats version in that is very old. I would like to use HLStats version 1.31. I don't think it will be that hard for you. The code the changed was minimal from what i saw. But what the hell do i know eh?
Links to both:
http://www.mtndewbuzz.net/downloads/postnuke/modules/eHLStats-1.02.zip - outdated module
http://www.mtndewbuzz.net/downloads/postnuke/modules/HLStats-1.31.zip - Original HLStats program (unmodified)
I left all the sql, config, perl files and stuff, just in case you need to check it out for whatever reason. hlstats.php is the main file, and then it calls all the files in the hlstatsinc folder.
I hope you can help me out, or at least take a look and hook up with me on msn and help me out or something. I would seriously appreciate it. If you cant, or your not really interested in dealing with it. I totally understand. But .. you might become pretty popular if you actually got this working with postnuke 750, regardless if 8 is coming out soon. Thats doesn't mean everyones switching to it. Ive seen lots of people searching for this. Right now I'm wrapping it, and that has its disadvantages at times.
Soo .. Thats it. I hope you can consider it. Or Slap me with a trout because im living in a dream world. Ahh, hell. Its worth a shot.
Thanks,
Lack |

I don't think there is much I can do.
First, for time restraints...
Second, since this is not even near a postnuke module, the degree of study it would need me to grasp all of it is big... very big in that case with the fact that it is using cgi scripts in wich I have almost no experience, etc... etc...
So I guess that your best bet is still wrapping it in PostWrap or something like that (no idea how since I never used PW and such).
So it's probably possible to accomplish the same thing in a PostNuke module...
Me doing it ? Yup, you are in dreamland. (Joking) |

i find nukewrapper to be much more advanced than postwrap. Great documenation and the dev is pretty fast to respond to support posts about it at the pn forums. |
