For the english visitors, I'll try to make simple as I am not sure if I could explain it better with my poor typing.

Right now, in France, there is a nice lady who think that the best way to counter pedophilia among other things (some concern the Music industries Majors) is to make a law that will give our hosting providers the power to judge, be jury and to remove any content they host if this content is inappropriate.

As in all democratic countries, when a website has something wrong, the magistrate and the justice are the o­nly powers that can judge and impose their veto (unless extreme case).

The other part of this law is to filter the informations coming from outside the country. I think this o­ne line will be enough to explain the tragic turn the french internet community can take.

I probably don't explain very well all this but don't worry, if the words are not the good o­nes, my understanding of what could happen is good.

And even though I'm not french, I live in France ! So I support a cause that will make me move to another country if it's lost.

After the pre-digested information system and hypocrisy the USA gives to their "citizens".
After the incredible amorphism my fellow Canadians and mostly Quebecois take the way their government is slowly removing their rights...

I thought that in France I would be far from this stupidity...

If this law is voted... France will be the o­nly democratic country filtering the net from what is coming from outside it's borders.......... and will also be the shame of the Internet.
