For most people, there is always a shocking image that not only made them gaze at the sky and wonder why it happened...
They were also afraid... or filled with a unmeasurable sadness and despair.
For some, it was the assination of J.F.K., for others the Rwanda's Genocide, the elders (and even yougster) have countless wars to remember and for others... the guy next door that a dealer decided to eliminate in front of them.
We can be shocked by many things... but this 11th day of September... and without ever minimizing what could have been or still can be the horrors elsewhere in the world.
This day shook the ground under our "civilized" feet.
To the point that even seeing it again in a movie like in "The Barbarian Invasions"... brings the memory of how we felt that day.
Someone told me the other day : "The 2 most incredible things I saw and lived in my life (aside what made my personal life incredible so far), was the first man on the moon and September 11th".
I wasn't born to see the first man on the moon... But I can say that I join him for his second choice.
-----------
For the families, the friends and all who lost someone loved in this event, it is a day to remember them. They have 364 other days to try to understand.
For us who didn't lost someone in this event, we will always have reasons to explain : Religion, fanatism, politics, madness, etc.
But we must not forget that whatever the reason was... it was still humans behind all of it.
Humans...
Enough to bring the question : Does Mankind really have a future?
Or are we bound to destroy ourselves.
------------------
New Yorkers, have a good commemorative day... filled with the hope that what made such day...
... never comes again.

Note: And a special thought to all all who volonteered that day and the days after to help in any way they could... See in the comments someone talking about it with the pain still in his heart.
