i've tried to install pnWikka as described in the docs but it won't get activated.
Most things i could change by editing directly in the database, so it's now up an running.
Any suggestions what went wrong? (no errors shown)
I'm using OpenStar 4.03 with PN 0.763 included.

I just tried with a fresh install of PostNuke 764 (non OS) and it worked fine...
If I recall correctly, OpenStar has some modifications in the Database backend (DBUtil) that might prevent pnWikka to activate itself automatically.
Robert on openstar.com (?) might have an idea about this.

thanks for info!
as it's just a test-site i will try it without openstar in the future, before the site will go online.

Where can I download pnwikka?
I've scoured the site, found some great things, but no pnwikka to download.
Any advice? (or signposts?)

pnWikka is only available through the SVN checkout function from the NOC (or the nightly tarball I guess).

Thanks.
I've tried to install onto a fresh postnuke .764, but can't initialise it. Does it need any mods installed first in order to work? I've never tried pnwikka before, so have no clue about this yet.

No mod required... you should see an installation process when you initialize it the first time.
Make sure you upload the pnWikka folder in the modules folder. Reupload it if it's the case, maybe a few files got corrupted.

You're right - it works fine when I upload a .tar and unpack it. The problem seemed to be that one of the files had too many "."s, so it wasn't uploading everything that it needed when FTP-ing file by file.
Thanks for this mod. I'm finding it fascinating.
The only thing that I'm having problems with is restoring an older version of an edited post. I've posted as admin, logged out and logged back in as another user and changed something, but when I log back in as admin I cannot find the "edit old post" button.
